1. Who is Volcron?
Volcron Connected Devices is designed for businesses and organizations that need tougher tech than standard consumer devices. We support field teams, construction, logistics, transport, engineering, utilities, public sector, emergency services and any business that works in demanding environments.


2. What types of products do you supply?
We focus on rugged and semi-rugged devices, including rugged smartphones, tablets, laptops, handhelds, mobile routers/MiFi and accessories. Our range is carefully selected for business use – long lifecycles, strong warranties and proven reliability in real-world conditions. We also offer some standard business use products and can source equipment on request.


3. What’s the difference between a rugged device and a normal consumer device?
Rugged devices are built to withstand drops, vibration, extreme temperatures, dust and water. Many are tested to MIL-STD-810 standards and carry IP ratings (e.g. IP65, IP67, IP68) that show their protection level. Consumer devices may be “tough” or “water-resistant”, but they’re not designed for daily use on site, in vehicles or outdoors in all weather.


4. How much does delivery cost and will my order be tracked?


Delivery costs depend on the size and value of your order, plus the delivery speed you choose at checkout. Standard UK delivery is typically charged at a flat rate, with options for next-day or timed services on many items. All shipped orders include tracking, and we’ll send you tracking details by email so you can follow your delivery right to your door.


5. Do you only sell to businesses?
Our main focus is B2B – supplying businesses and public sector organizations. However, if you’re a sole trader or professional user who needs rugged kit, you’re welcome to order from us as well.


6. Can I buy devices outright online?
Yes. Many of our most popular rugged phones, tablets, routers and MiFi devices can be bought outright directly from the online store. For larger or more complex requirements, you can build a quote and our team will put together a tailored proposal.


7. Do you offer bulk or project pricing?
Yes, we can usually offer better pricing for volume orders, multi-site rollouts or full fleet refresh projects. Build your quote in the store or contact us with your requirements (models, quantities and timelines) and we’ll work to secure the best possible pricing for your deployment.


8. Can I add SIMs or connectivity to my devices?
In many cases, yes. We can pair selected devices with data SIMs or voice & data SIMs to give you ready-to-go connectivity out of the box. Just mention your connectivity requirements when building your quote or speak to our team for options.


9. Do you provide leasing or finance options?
We aim to offer flexible ways to pay, including outright purchase, and (subject to status and availability) business leasing or finance on selected orders. Leasing can be a tax-efficient way to spread the cost over 12–60 months. If you’re interested in leasing, let us know when you request a quote and we’ll outline the options.


10. What warranty comes with your rugged devices?
Most devices include at least a standard manufacturer’s warranty, typically 12–36 months depending on the brand and model. Many rugged products also have optional extended warranties, advance-replacement or accidental-damage cover. The exact warranty details are shown on each product page.


11. Can you repair or service devices out of warranty?
In many cases, yes. We work with authorized repair partners who can assess and repair out-of-warranty devices. Contact us with the model and serial number, plus a brief fault description, and we’ll advise on the next steps and approximate costs.


12. Do you offer mobile device management (MDM) or configuration?
Yes. For business deployments we can pre-configure devices, apply security policies, install specific apps and enroll devices into your chosen MDM or EMM platform where supported. This helps you roll out devices at scale with minimal on-site setup.


13. How quickly will my order be delivered?
Delivery times depend on stock status and the shipping option selected at checkout. In-stock items typically ship within 1–2 working days, and most UK orders arrive within 1–3 working days. Lead times for back-order or special-order items will be confirmed once we’ve checked with our distribution and manufacturer partners. All orders are tracked and require signature on delivery.


14. Is there a minimum order quantity?
For most products there is no strict minimum order – you can buy a single device if needed. However, pricing and availability may improve for larger quantities, and some specialist or custom-configured devices may have minimum order quantities. We’ll make any minimums clear when we provide your quote.


 

15. What is your returns policy?
We know rugged tech is a critical part of your operations, so we aim to make returns straightforward. If you receive a device that is faulty on arrival or not as described, contact us within the stated returns window and we’ll arrange a repair, replacement or refund in line with our returns policy. 16. What payment methods do you accept?
We accept major debit and credit cards, as well as standard business payment methods such as bank transfer. For approved business customers and larger projects, we may also be able to offer invoice terms or leasing/finance options. Exact options will be shown at checkout or confirmed with your quote.

 


17. Do you sell accessories such as cases, chargers and docks?
Yes. We stock and source a range of official and third-party accessories including protective cases, vehicle docks, desktop docks, hand straps, shoulder straps, chargers, batteries and screen protectors. If you don’t see the accessory you need listed, ask us or include in quote notes – we can often source it.


18. How do I choose the right rugged device for my use case?
Start by thinking about how and where the device will be used: indoors or outdoors, vehicle-mounted or handheld, gloved use, barcode scanning, camera requirements, battery life and connectivity (4G/5G, Wi-Fi, GPS). If you’re unsure, contact our team – we’ll help you shortlist suitable devices and weigh up options based on performance, durability and total cost of ownership.


19. What happens to my data if I return or recycle a device?
Data security is critical. Before sending any device back to us, we recommend you back up any important data and perform a full factory reset and data wipe. For business projects, we can also arrange certified data-wipe and recycling services to help you securely retire old devices.
